This was shot at about 60 feet below the surface, and this guy was just eating away. He was there a long time, I never saw him surface in fact.

You should have tried to ride it.

Yeah, apparently that's how a lot of turtles die, I guess you know that and that's why you said it? Some people don't realize they have to breathe periodically (they live in the water, right?!) and ride their back until the turtle drowns.

I believe it--and if you DID ride it I would have been horrified. But because you decided to respect nature and this fine animal, I felt okay joking about it.
